Chopard, a name synonymous with luxury since 1860, entrusted us with an exciting challenge: to revolutionize their sales training through digital innovation. From 2013 to 2014, I had the privilege of crafting educational materials and designing the Chopard Academy e-learning app, aiming to make the world of high-end watches and jewelry accessible to every Chopard employee.

This project was our opportunity to blend the timeless elegance of Chopard with cutting-edge digital education, creating a platform that would empower their sales team with knowledge as exquisite as the products they sell.

Simplifying the complex world of luxury

Our first challenge was to take the intricate world of gemmology and luxury watchmaking and transform it into engaging, digestible content. We weren't just creating educational materials; we were crafting a bridge between Chopard's rich heritage and their sales team. Our goal was to empower every salesperson with the knowledge to speak passionately and authoritatively about each exquisite piece.

Designing for everyone

We faced an interesting challenge: creating a platform that would appeal to a sales team with an average age of 50 and varying levels of tech-savviness. It was crucial to strike a balance between ease of use and engaging content that would keep users coming back. We incorporated features like achievement systems, bookmarking, and smart reminders, turning learning about luxury into an adventure in itself.

Coming from a background at the Swiss Institute of Gemmology SSEF, this project with Chopard was an exciting leap into the world of luxury brands and e-learning. It laid the groundwork for future projects like Changr, showing me the power of digital tools in transforming how we learn and work.

This experience was a revelation in many ways. It highlighted the importance of aligning educational content with brand values and taught me the art of creating learning materials that truly resonate with the audience. The project underscored how crucial the design of a learning platform is in supporting users throughout their educational journey, from intuitive interfaces to well-crafted user flows and features that enhance the learning experience.
