Changr

Transforming corporate learning

Overview

BTS, a global consulting firm, needed a corporate e-learning platform that people would actually want to use. I joined as a freelancer and later became Lead Product Designer for Changr, shaping its user experience and brand identity from 2015 to 2020.

Context

BTS wanted an e-learning platform employees would actually enjoy using. My job was to design interfaces that worked for both new hires and senior executives, and to build the brand identity around it.

Icons designed to give Changr a distinct brand character.

Approach: we built a shared design and coding framework used by both design and engineering. It kept the platform consistent as new features shipped, and cut the time needed to build new screens.

Front-end framework built on SCSS, shared by design and engineering.

Alongside the product work, I developed Changr's marketing materials, positioning it clearly for the industries BTS was selling into.

Outcome: Changr grew to more than 8,000 monthly users across the markets BTS operates in.

Reflection

Five years on Changr taught me how to run user-centered design at a global scale, and how much a shared framework does for a product's consistency as the team around it grows.
